Passing Traits
I view the world in associations that are continually in flux. Though things are ever changing, they are inexorably linked. Through photography, I gain insight into connections between people, their situations and their influences on each other. I frequently photograph my immediate family. Observing them can resonate with my past or help me contemplate the future. When something in the present mimics what has come before, it's as if that moment or that person has returned, though in a different form; like traits passed on to a new generation or like a thread that appears and reappears in a woven pattern.
